Leave of Absence

The award is secured once you apply for admission by the May 1 deadline.

Leave of Absence

The Program allows a leave of absence of up to two semesters at any time during the five year period following high school graduation. During the leave of absence the award is not paid. The award will expire after two unpaid semesters.

It is not necessary to inform the Scholars Program office if you are planning to utilize the leave of absence.

Contact the your campus of choice for campus specific requirements on postponing or deferring your admission if you are not planning to attend immediately following high school.

Unless you are using a leave of absence, you must begin using your Award the fall semester immediately following high school graduation.

Extended Leave of Absence

In certain narrow circumstances the Program Administrator may determine extend the leave of absence. Details are outlined in the Program Booklet.
